Youth On Mission

No longer a child but not yet an adult, teenagers are living through a unique and formative time of life. That’s why it is so important to be sure students have a firm foundation before they head off to make their way in the world. Missions discipleship for teens instills a strong biblical framework, awakening a passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ and providing opportunities for students to live out their faith in a tangible way. Missions discipleship guides students passionately devoted to Christ into avenues of service.

Getting Started Guide

How to Start a Youth On Mission Group:

  • Begin With Prayer: Involve church leadership in seeking direction for starting a new group.
  • Contact WMU of Texas: Contact the WMU of Texas Age-Level Strategist to learn more about updates, resources, and leadership training specifically for students.
  • Meet With Pastor & Student Minister: Student leaders should meet with the pastor and youth minister to discuss the purpose, structure, and goals of the Acteens group, so everyone is on the same page.
  • Identify Leaders: Identify a group leader and others willing to lead. Provide leadership development through WMU of Texas's leadership training events.
  • Select & Order Materials: Use WMU resources like the Missions Journey: Students to help you get started.
  • Promote: Invite students to attend through personal contacts, email, social media, and other communication channels at your church.
