Since John Calvin broke from historical interpretations and called her a “brazen hussy,” the Samaritan woman in John 4 has been defined by the perception that she was a woman of poor character and that her sexual sin was confronted by Jesus. In this workshop, Dr. Tate will lead an exhaustive study of John 3 and John 4 in order to show how Scripture contrasts Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman and ultimately depicts her response to Jesus as ideal.
