Do you have favorite quotes?
I love to go down the aisles in Hobby Lobby to read the wooden signs with quotes or sayings matching exactly what I’m thinking about or believe. They are usually written in such a way that at even a glance, they catch my attention. Those are keepers!
With our world in the condition it is in, I want to share a few quotes and thoughts I have come across to get us thinking about the importance of continuing to grow our relationship with Christ.
We often hear, ‘Life is short…better enjoy it!’
How about, ‘Eternity is long…better prepare for it!’”
Another one…“God has already prepared the way. He is just preparing you.”
Finally…“Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian, but being a Christian should make you want to go to church.”
In Joel 2:12 the Lord calls to the people of Zion, “Even now,” declares the Lord, 'return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” And in verse 13, “Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and He relents from sending calamity.”
As Christ was calling the disciples, He was proclaiming the good news of God, “The time has come,” He said, 'The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!” Every day we are closer to His coming again! We must be ready!
In Mark 13:32-33, He says, “No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come.” There is an urgency that we must all keep in the forefront of our minds and hearts to continue to spend time with the Lord each day, follow His plan for our lives, and share the Good News to those we come in contact with, so they too will be ready to live with Christ for eternity!
