Reflecting on Pursue 2025

by Jackie Faughn on April 23, 2025 in WMU of Texas Blog

Pursue 2025’s theme, Speak Jesus, centered me in my missional discipleship journey.

As we sang the words to the song in each session, the urgency to speak His Name, Jesus, overpowered me.

  • Who is mandated to speak Jesus? You and me.
  • Where do we speak Jesus? Everywhere! We are to proclaim Jesus to all nations, tribes, languages, cultures, communities, neighborhoods, families, and individuals.
  • How do we speak? In the name and authority of His name. His name is power. His name is healing. His name is life.

Then the Pursue weekend ended, and we returned to our homes, communities, and churches.

Are your eyes, ears, and heart open to the nudge of the Holy Spirit to engage in conversations about Jesus?

  • What if the local coffee shop knows us by name because we consistently meet our friends there for spiritual conversations?
  • What if the multiplication of missional discipleship making began with you?

Missional discipleship begins with intentional relationships with others that lead to conversations about an intentional relationship with Jesus

Watch for the launch of the five missional discipleship pieces at wmutx.org/resources that you can use to engage in the fall to support you on your journey to disciple others with a missional heart to serve, go, give, and pray.

We hope to see you at Pursue 2026 on April 17-18, 2026, at the Waco Convention Center in Waco, Texas. To learn more, visit wmutx.org/pursue.
