"As I led Girls in Action and Acteens, I learned that missions is a lifestyle, and this helped confirm that God was calling me to missions."
Meet Vanessa Lerma, our first WMU of Texas Missionary serving along the Texas/Mexico border.
God called Vanessa to ministry at a young age while serving in children and youth ministry. Growing up in Missions, Texas, a border city, Vanessa was mentored and discipled by Godley women, her parents, and others like the late Daniel Rangel, who served with Texas Baptists Border Ministry for many years.
During that time her passion to serve others and make disciples grew, and she learned to embrace and love the unique culture and language of the people along the border.
Vanessa's Passions:
At the end of the day, Vanessa believes missions is a lifestyle, a lesson she learned at a young age as a Girl in Action and Acteen. Today, she's reminding all ages along the border that Jesus called the church to be on mission, and it's our job to disciple others to do the same.
If you're ready to join Vanessa as she serves and loves others in Jesus' name, visit wmutx.org/border.
