Imagine if teenage girls in all of our churches truly gained an understanding of what it means to be "radically involved in the mission of God." To be radical for God's mission is to live to the extreme or above the ordinary in effort to advance the kingdom of God. WMU provides resources to help guide teen girls to a greater understanding of God's work in the world and how they can join Him in His work. We are here to support you whether you lead a missions small group or simply want ideas to engage the world.

Missions Small Group

Acteens® is the missions group of WMU® for girls ages 12-18 or grades 7-12. This provides a Christ-based peer and prayer group for teenage girls. Acteens also serves as an opportunity for girls to grow in their understanding of God, themselves, and others. They will be given a glimpse of the world and see how God might use them to make a difference in it. Through learning experiences, teenage girls will begin to express their passion for missions and get in involved in missions work.

How does missions involvement change lives?

Acteens will learn how God is at work in the world through mission stories. Teenage girls will be able to learn how to develop a lifestyle of missions and have a daily reminder that life isn't all about them. Missions involvement will provide an opportunity for Acteens to broaden their worldview and apply what they learn to Christian ideals. Girls will be able to learn how to apply the Bible to their lives and understand more about God's mission in the world. Acteens gives teenage girls a safe environment to explore God-given gifts and use those gifts for His glory. Girls will also be given the opportunity to learn about serving others through participating in ministry and missions projects. This level of missions education will encourage girls to provide outreach to the community, the church and non-churched families.

"As a shy and socially awkward child, Acteens did nothing but challenge me to get out of my comfort zone. If we are not willing to give ourselves that extra push or motivation, we'll stay at a standstill, especially when it concerns our relationship with Christ. That's something I was able to learn through Acteens."

"I'd like to take a little credit for what a great young lady my daughter is becoming but I have to give it all to the Lord and her with Him. She wants to serve Him in whatever capacity He guides her to and she is open and ready for wherever that is. Acteens has been a huge part of her journey. It has truly been a joy to watch her "BLOOM" through her time as an Acteen and panelist."

"I see that Acteens has taught my girls how to live a missions lifestyle when most other girls their age are turning their attention to worldly things. I've seen how Acteens helps the girls to keep their focus on God instead of on everything that's going on around them."
